FOTD & Review: Dr. Jart Waterfuse BB Cream

Hi guys!

So today I will be reviewing the Dr. Jart Waterfuse BB cream. This is available at Sephora but I suggest you take a look at the Dr. Jart website to see what kind of products they offer other than the ones that are sold at Sephora.

The Basics:
-1.7 oz ($34 at Sephora, slightly different product for $42 on the Dr. Jart website)
-SPF 25 PA++
-Oil free
-Made with 50% water
-One shade
-Made in Korea

Immediately, I'm sure the price can make some feel uneasy but this is not a product anyone should be using a lot of.  You do not need a lot of this to cover your imperfections.  That being said, no, it is definitely not as cheap as the ones you can find in drugstores but I strongly believe this BB cream is worth every penny.

The Good:
I think this is most ideal for people with normal to dry skin. I've heard it works well for oily skin too, but you have to use some powder/blot every few hours. The finish is dewy, your face will look plump and 'glowy'. When I'm wearing a "full face" of makeup, I start out with this BB cream, apply some blush and mascara, then I'm good to go! I also like that this product has SPF 25. I use a teeny bit (and I'll explain later why) and blend, blend, blend! Ta-da! Most of my imperfections are gone! I'm not too crazy about concealing EVERY single blemish so even the ones that still peek through after applying this, I leave alone because there is enough coverage.  I love that it's oil-free but not drying for my face.  This is probably the main reason why this product could also work for oily skin. There is also a scent, nothing overwhelming, but it's slightly floral (kind of reminds me of my serum but not as strong as my serum).  It's a pleasant smell and it does not linger for me.

The Bad:
Okay. Great product. Everyone should be able to use it, right?
Unfortunately not, as this product only comes in one shade. If you are very fair or very dark, you will not be able to use this product without looking a bit 'off'.  I am on the lighter side and using too much of this will make my face face look darker than it is.  But it is absolutely fine because I only need a thin layer of this and I'm good to go.  I noticed that the more layers I put on, it made me look darker. So I can't really say this is "buildable" (unless you are exactly this shade) but I don't think it's something you really need to build!

Here is how the one from Sephora looks.

What they say.

This is the consistency.
It feels cool, literally, and it feels moist. I can't quite describe it but it's almost as if I feel water droplets.
The consistency is almost putty-like, sort of a cross between pudding.. and cream??
Man, I really am not good at this.
In other words..
It feels nice!

Semi blended
As you can see, it is too dark for my pale forearm before being blended.

But after much blending, it's hard to tell it's really that much darker!

...And I leave you with a FOTD! I tried to stand as close to natural light to show you guys how this looks on me and I think this pretty much looks like my own skin. As you can see, some of my imperfections peek through (especially my right cheek) but I personally think this is good enough. Unless it's for something really important, I will skip concealer. Like I've said in a previous post, I either wear foundation (or BB cream) OR just concealer but usually never both at the same time.

Ahh I'm dying to try some other Dr. Jart products! Can't wait 'til I'm done with this so I can try another BB cream from their line.

What is your favorite BB cream? Do you like BB creams in general or are you a foundation person?

Where do I even begin?

Hello, hello.
:( this week has been treating me really badly... but I'm glad it's ending soon!
I am NEVER packing my schedule into three days ever again. I have way too many classes in one day for me to handle.
This is also why my posts have been lacking and I hate it because I really enjoy blogging! It takes my stress away :)

So, basically, this is what has been happening with my photos. I bought my new camera 10/25. But even before then, I've been taking pictures of things I wanted to blog about on my old Sony camera.

I've been taking photos but I've been delayed with editing and uploading so... I do not know where to begin with the photos. So I've decided to upload my four most recent purchases. Two from Sephora, one from Missha, and one from F21.

So starting with the Missha - they were giving away their BB creams for FREE to celebrate the launching of their new website. All you had to do was pay for shipping :) I got a mask as well because my mom wanted to try a collagen mask to see if she likes 'em. Total was $11. Ahh! So cheap!

I got #21 and I really like it! I don't know why I didn't like Missha so much before. Or maybe I like it more now because it was free?? Haha.

Bad photo, I know. I was being lazy :P

Next up is F21 GLITTER polishes! With flash / without flash.
From left to right: Teal, Magenta, Silver, Rust, Aqua
@$2.80 each.
They're okay. Nothing spectacular, I wasn't expecting much but I do think they're very pretty :) But I'm having a hard time adjusting to the smell...

Sephora #1 (Online):

Pick up 4 Nars products! Three are eyeshadow duos and they were $10 each. Regular price was $33 so I still spent less after buying THREE of them ($30) hehe. The last Nars product is a nail polish and the regular price was $17 but I got it for $7 I think.
Also picked up some nail stuff: hot pink glitter ($5) & dotting/marble tool ($7) & deep purple polish ($4)for free shipping lol.
I also became VIB last month and they had a VIB offer for a deluxe sample of Amore (comes with three items) so I got that for my mom :) And last but not least, my three free samples.
I will not be elaborating further for these products on THIS particular post. A "Recent Sephora Hauls Overview" entry is currently waiting to be published, so stay tuned!

Last but definitely not least, Sephora #2 (In-Store):
Another nail glitter! And a Mini Tweezerman tweezers featuring Harajuku lovers! It's so cuteee! And it's my FIRST Tweezerman tweezers and I am MADLY in love with them. They were pricey at $15 but SOOO worth it. I have pretty tiny hands and they just work so well with meee!

Also picked up the 500 point BI gift. I was saving and saving because I didn't like any of the other gifts they had but I really like Benefit overall so I went right for it!
The Dandelion blush is full sized (retails $28) and the primer and mascara are sample sizes (mascara size is pretty generous though, I think).

Mom, Angry, Omelette Rice, NANA's B - SHINee BB Cream

This entry was never published, was supposed to be published Saturday! :(

*Today kinda sucks so far even though it's only 30 minutes past noon :( I woke up to a nice big zit on my cheek, it's under the skin too. HUGE (literally -- it almost looks like a bad bug bite...) and under the skin. It's going to take forever for it to go away =( It's sore as well.. ugh so bad why do zits exist!??! Andddd my mama was mad at me (we rarely EVER fight and it really was not my fault today) so... overall a horrible morning. I decided I'd leave her alone because I know everyone has those angry days lol. But just now my mom walked into my room with this

so we automatically made up :) It's her omelette with an Asian twist? lolol.

And if you were curious, under the egg! Fried rice with mushroom, spinach, shrimp, shredded squid, carrot.

Speaking of my zit, I wanted to do a review of NANA's B - SHINee's BB cream. I know everrryone does reviews on them but I don't see so many on this particular one.
For starters, it was made by LG's personal care laboratory and Korean boy group SHINee endorsed it. It has SPF 20 so a separate sunblock is not necessary but it wouldn't hurt I think. Some of my other BB creams have like SPF 45, so 20 isn't that high at all. Apparently they use "Angel's tear" a natural phytosubstance that prevents and eases troubled skin. It is also recommended for adolescent skin.

Where to buy: http://yeppeunsonyuh.com/ (legitimate US/NYC seller - but she's going to Korea soon!)

Price: USD$19, +$2 shipping (which is really cheap by the way), or free with a purchase of $30. All international orders are $5 regardless of amount! And she accepts cash/money order for those who don't use paypal.

I compared it to my Lioele - Beyond the Solution BB cream. And this is where the pros/cons took place.

PROS:
-Very light, almost mousse-like texture. It's actually kind of hard to call it a "cream" it feels much lighter than that.
-Blends easily.
-It has a very subtle scent, subtle enough not to bother me but also subtle enough for me to enjoy it. It smells quite nice actually. Not floral-y or too fruity.
-It does have SPF 20 so you're not completely unprotected from the sun.
-Of course, the pretty boys of SHINee.
-CUTE/SLEEK PACKAGING *O* I'm a sucker for cute packaging!
-They have a list of names of the teenagers/young adults who apparently took place in the laboratory studies on the side of the box, which I think is respectable!
-No white cast!

CONS:
-As you will see below, it is extremely light and I think it only comes in one shade, if not there probably aren't many other. I'm pretty sure this is the only shade as it does not indicate WHICH shade it is.
-Because it's light, I don't think many people can use it. I didn't have a particular problem with it because I am pretty pale but coverage is VERY light.
-My bottle was new but it had quite a bit of air in it. I don't really like how you have to squeeze it out either, wish there was a pump! They probably filled it with air BECAUSE you need to squeeze it out and they probably didn't want the cream to explode out on the first use. But still, air is.. air.
-Considering it was designed for acne skin, I don't think it did much to help my acne. But it didn't harm me either!
***This is up for swap if anyone is interested! Leave a comment with your e-mail if interested! ***

So here's the packaging, pretty sleek right?

And the list of participants as I mentioned before.

Pretty boys LOL. SHINee!

The actual bottle itself.

The side. I really REALLY REALLLLY like the packaging! I loveee Korean beauty product package :D 99.9% of the time, they are absolutely adorable.

So here 1) I spelled the SHINee part wrong hahah sorry about that. 2) I compared it to my lieole beyond the solution BB cream which I use everyday! Lieole isn't even that dark to start off with, so you can really see how much lighter the SHINee one is.

I .. can't explain the bad lighting. BUT you can still see that the NANA's B BB cream is still very light!
Repurchase?: No.

Overall: 3.5/5 (But I'm a hard grader!)

So yeah, that's about it! Hope this helps if you were interested in this particular bb cream at all :)

PS. I want a new camera (DSLR) and my birthday is coming up! From all the saved paychecks/previous Christmas money from my Uncle & Aunt, I think I can buy a camera AND have some money left over! Should I?!...... dun dun dun I don't know. I get so scared when I need to spend a lot of money LOL.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with yeppensonyuh in any way. I purchased the BB cream with my own money and my opinions are of course 100% my own.
