PERFUME.

[Don't forget to enter my one-year giveaway!]

Hey guys!

So today I want to talk about perfume. I love perfume but I'm very picky about it. It cannot be too flowery or too musky, and I prefer it to be fruity smelling. I know scents can smell different on certain people but I just really like the way fruity things smell on me!

The downside of perfume? The price. I have trouble justifying the price I have to pay for a full sized bottle of perfume. Some perfumes cost ~$50 for a 1.7 fl oz bottle! But I probably will never leave my house without spritzing something on. My goodness. I just can't.

I usually HATE perfumes from "higher end" brands (Gucci, Prada, Michael Kors (if you consider it higher end)) and the list goes on. I usually find them too strong or musky and I hate anything that smells like that.

I do have a few perfume samples and I actually DO use them. I know lots of people never use them but not I! I have a spare reusable roll-on thing I got from Sephora (I can pour in perfume into the tube, twist it shut and use it as a roll-on) so they usually do not go to waste.

These are a few of my perfume samples. The six perfumes I definitely want to try in the full size are also here.

Not in any order, here are the perfumes I definitely would buy if I had the chance:

1) Marc Jacobs - "Daisy"
2) Harajuku Lovers - "G"
3) Clinique - "Happy"
4) DKNY - "Be Delicious (Golden)"
5) Harajuku Lovers - "Lil' Angel" <- these are kind of harder to find nowadays.
6) Ralph Lauren - "Romance"

Have you guys tried any from my list? If so, what are your opinions? AND! What is your favorite perfume (if you have one)?

  2. Jane I agree so much that High End perfumes are not my thing either, I always think... Old lady smell... haha.

Anyways I'm pretty picky also but I do like fruity and flowers, but you're right about perfume costing so dang much. I hope you really find the one you like the most though...

I haven't tried any on your list but here are some that I fancy

    Vera Wang "Princess"
    Harajuku Lovers "Love"
(I agree it's a bit harder to find these but it's one of my favorite scents)
Harajuku Lovers "G by the Sea"
    Victoria Secret "Sexy Little Things"
    Marc Jacobs "Lola"

  3. I absolutely love, love, love the Harajuku Lovers line. G was my first, Love is my favorite, and I just added Lil'Angel to the collection (my boyfriend got it for me for Christmas). He actually found it at a Walmart, of all places. That's where I've gotten all of my Harajuku Lovers.

My three favorites are Chanel No. 19, Chanel No. 22, and Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker. Both of the Chanel fragrances are a floral with a hint of musk. 19 is my all time favorite because it's got hints of magnolia. 22 is too heavy for summer wear in the Florida humidity. Covet is perfect for year round wear, and lasts on me for hours.

That is the only compliant I have about the Harajuku Lovers line - it doesn't last all day. I spray on Covet before I go to work and I come home still smelling sweet.

  4. I'm not a huge perfume person actually, I always seem to get them as presents though! But I never even remember to wear them, I just prefer scented lotions that last (Fruits and Passion 'Blue' is my favourite.

I remember though as a teenager I loved Tommy Hilfiger 'Tommy Girl', Ralph Lauren 'Ralph' and later on 'Romance' and now I love Chanel 'Chance Eau Fraiche', I'd actually wear that now but I never get around to buying it!

I love cologne on guys though <3 Thanks so much for visiting my blog, I love the entries you've done, so informative and well-written! Followed you :)

  5. I adore Clinique's Happy too! I can never see myself buying the full size bottle either. All the perfume bottles that I have are from family and friends. I've never bought one myself. I love the perfume samples from the store. I have a whole drawer filled with them! I absolutely love Yves Saint Laurent's Parisienne and it's kind of embarrassing of me to admit but I love the fruity smell of Justin Bieber's Somebody. *hides*

  6. I think I'm too shallow. I kinda base my decisions on whether the perfume bottle is pretty haha. le sigh. :)

  8. Unfortunately I only own 2 out 6 samples you currently enjoying so I can't comment on the rest. I do, however, like Romance by Ralph Lauren and Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I don't normally wear perfumes because it make me very dizzy but I do sometimes like to sniff some. My ultimate favorite perfumes come from Lolita Lempicka's perfume collections because they smell so fresh, fruity, but at the same time have this wood musk that is not overbearing when you put them on or even when sniffing. I do also like Flora by Gucci because it smell like a fresh floral scent.

  10. Hahaha! Perfume can be a bit pricy. Luckily, I don't wear any, since they somehow make me dizzy. Oddly, I love any other scented products like sweet smelling body lotion, scented candles, scented sachet for my lingerie drawer, etc.
    Weird, huh, lol
